About

About the tool

Latter-day Search is an independent study tool. Ask a question — even a vague one, even a half-remembered phrase — and it surfaces real passages from the libraries you choose, shown verbatim and fully cited. Nothing is summarized, and nothing is generated. The study stays yours.

Our mission

A good search tool should help you find what someone faithful already wrote — not replace them with a machine that sounds like them. We want to make the published record easy to search by meaning, while always pointing you back to the original source.

The libraries

Search across the scriptures, General Conference, Gospel Topics, BYU Studies, the Liahona, BYU Speeches, and the Interpreter. Every result links directly to the source so you can read it in full and in context.

How it works

Search is semantic: your query is matched by meaning against passages, so you can find ideas even when you don’t know the exact words. Wrap a phrase in “double quotes” to add an exact full-text filter. Results are ranked by relevance, never rewritten.

Independent

Latter-day Search is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Quoted material remains the property of its respective owners and is provided for study and reference.
